Chartiers Valley High School and the Pittsburgh Central Blood Bank have sponsored blood drives since 1984 through the Family and Consumer Sciences Department. Students have rolled up their sleeves ready to help those in need with the gift of life. And, seniors have qualified for scholarships through the Central Blood Bank since 1999. In the past five years, 800 students have participated in the CV Blood Drives and raised $ 5500 in scholarships.
For every donation, our school earns points toward scholarship dollars. The scholarship is open to any senior who participates in the Chartiers Valley blood drives and completes the essay.
