The CVEF recently accepted a PA Education Improvement Tax Credit grant in the amount of $4,000 presented by Waste Management of Pennsylvania representatives, Erika Young and Leonard Kiehlmier. On hand from the Foundation were Kim Hartnett, Patti Figorski, and Joe Verduci.
This is the 3rd year that the Foundation has been eligible to receive EITC funding from qualifying businesses. The grant will be used during the coming year to support programing in the AP and/or Engineering programs within the district. The Foundation plans to seek state approval to broaden the subject areas in which future grants can be utilized.
Since the EITC program became law, Waste Management has donated over $14 million dollars to help improve educational opportunities for thousands of children that reside in the communities they service. As they make this important contribution to today’s learners, they also protect our environment by providing waste disposal and recycling services that keep our communities and waterways clean and conserve the world’s resources. Their waste recycling is used to create energy to power 500,000 homes everyday!
